Iliana’s expertise in hagiographic studies and late medieval devotional cultures. In her doctoral dissertation defended at CEU in 2021, she studied the social and symbolic functions of Saint Emperor Henry and Saint Cunigunde’s cults in the late medieval Holy Roman Empire. She has published on literary and hagiographic traditions, female devotional practices, and iconography.
